The robbery that targeted two students on campus and in daylight, which occurred Friday, Jan. 22, is still under investigation.
Three perpetrators approached one student in front of Jazzman’s Café at approximately 1:30 p.m., and the other student thirty minutes later at the corner of West James St. and Lancaster Ave. Both students surrendered their cell phones, iPods, and cash.
In a story published Jan. 24, The College Reporter reported one of the three offenders, an 18-year-old male from Brooklyn, NY, was apprehended and being held on $250,000 bail.
Since, the Lancaster Bureau of Police (LBP), working alongside F&M’s Public Safety Department, apprehended the second perpetrator.
“Two of the three perpetrators have been arrested,” said Anne Schuman, a Public Safety Officer and Assistant Investigator. “The third has been identified, and the LBP is working to bring him to Lancaster [from NY].”
Schuman noted LBP will conduct the remaining leg of the investigation. As of press time, LBP’s criminal investigation division could not be reached for comment.
